Tools needed:
-Rotory Tool (cutting tool, and sanding drum)
-Lighter
- ~ 30 1" stefans Blanks
- Hotglue gun and glue
-(optional) Electrical Tape

Step 1
Open the Drum

Step 2
See this pin

Remove it and take out the the internals

Step 3
Use the usual way to open the N-strike clips

Step 3
Just in modding N-strike clips, put in a rail at this point as well as the other half. Also take off the bottom right section of the clip that is shown missing in the picture

Step 4
Take your Rotory tool with the sanding drum on a low speed (it will allow the plastic to melt but not fly off), and sand back the black follower piece until it is able to slide smoothly

Step 5
Now take one of the stefans blanks, and hot glue it to the side of the spindle that is towards the solid side. Rinse and repeat for every slot that the follower doesn't occupy.

Step 6
Hold the spindle ~6 inches above the lighter to make the foam melt a bit

Optional Step
Put E-tape over top of the blanks

Step 7
Re-install all of the internals

Step 8
Mirror the locking slot on the right to the left and remove the little nub on the bottom of the clip

Finished!!!

The word "good" has many meanings. For example, if a man were to shoot his grandmother at a range of five hundred yards, I should call him a good shot, but not necessarily a good man.

Very nice.  Same thing can be done with just about any material ~ 1/2" in diameter. I used Nylon. You can kinda see it in the picture. I don't understand why everyone is afraid to open these up. They aren't too difficult to mod. Props on the write-up.

This mod looks pretty near perfect. How about jams? There is still a gap of space between the blank and the curve bit that the stefan sits in. How many rounds have you put through it without a jam? And, how easy is it to clear if you get a jam?

Folks want and need this mod, good work. I've been too timid to rip open a drum yet.

There is still a gap but the blanks don't allow the stefans to shift enough to fall into the gap.
As for testing, I don't have any gun that uses any Nstrike clips. So there is no way I can test it aside of just pushing the darts out the front of the clip, but it works.

I tried to do this after I saw your clip at HBH3 but I was having problems with it rotating. I wonder if there is any way to increase the force of that constant force spring thingy that makes it rotate. That should sort out my jamming issues.

No pic of the drum clip's one, but I have opened mine up. The spring looks like this.

The coiled portion is allowed so turn as the follower is pushed down and around the drum, paying out the spring like a tape measure.

You probably would need to just get a new, stronger spring of similar dimensions.

Awesome range, this could be great if you had a Nerf war in a small closet.
