Hmmm... I might try doing that to the Longshot's internals. The Yellow Longshot I've got now has the following:
- Air Restrictor (AR) Removal
- Air Release Seal
- Plunger Padding
- Deadspace Elimination
- Charging Handle Easy Release
I did manage to find someone willing to part with their Red Strike Longshot, so that's on the way now. I think I'll do my mod to the Yellow Longstrike and make sure I don't run into problems and then do the same to the Red Strike Longshot and use it as my primary. I'd rather screw up on a weapon that I can still buy in stores than ruin the Red Strike version.
So it's onto the cutting board. Removing the bipod on the Longshot is a sinch. What I'd like to know are the right points to cut the front weapon at. I know the top barrel gets removed, but how much of the shell do I retain?

Finally got the Red Longshot... took forever to get here.
But I decided to do all the mods I had done to my yellow Longshot but add one thing: use the Longshot spring AND a BBB spring. I found that while this upgrade nearly doubled the Longshot's PTG and ATG ranges, it was extremely difficult to load clips into and my unmodified Streamlines were even more inaccurate. I feel like that even though I would benefit/enjoy the awesome range of the weapon that it's inaccuracy, bothersome clip changes, and general fear of destroying this gun from the inside make this mod undesirable without substantial improvements to the Longshot itself.
I'm not exactly the most well-rounded when it comes to Nerf Mods, so I wanted to keep it simple. I think if I just go with what I had in the Yellow Longshot that I'll be good to go.
Pictures to come once I can find my cord!!
