Violet lightning

[I’ll get a pic. Up here when it’s done]

It is an Airtek 2000 integrated into a Big Bad Bow, alike to the Crooksbow but with some improvements:
-You don’t need to grow two more arms to operate it.
-The way I did it maintains the front handle (my preferred method of cocking the BBB).
-Pump relocation allows it to be more compact.
-I can take off the breech easily.
-It’s purple.
-It didn’t cost whatever the Crooksbow sold for.

*Credits* Forsaken Angel’s Angelbow write-up helped with the BBB portion and the Crooksbow is kinda what this is based off of… also Tatumbull’s AT2K thread helped with the 2K protion. You have been credited, congratulations..

I admit this isn’t as easy as Maverick AR removal, here’s a list of the materials required to duplicate this:
-Big Bad Bow
-Airtek 2000 (with shell)
-(2) 1/2” PVC elbows (one of mine was threaded but it doesn’t make a difference)
-1/2” PVC
-¼” Vinyl tubing
-1 or more tubes of epoxy putty
-1/2” CPVC
-1/2” CPVC elbow
-9/16” Brass
-17/32” Brass
-19/32” Brass
-PETG
-Amazing goop
- (2) Ace #49 springs
-Hot glue and hot glue gun
-Small piece of wire
-Paint

On to the mod

Stock BBBs like this one are increasingly hard to find, this one I got from Venom213. It was in good shape when I got it, just a little rust on the screws.
Taking it apart is simple; remove the screws out of the front half and pull the orange cap off the back sight, then remove the screws in the back as well.

The internals lain out:

I’ll start with the barrel part; I cut the stock barrel down to 3/8ths” and then drilled a small hole through both sides at the base of the stock barrel  and super glued a piece of piano wire through it as a dart stop (I use a similar setup for my other two BBBs).

Then I put some weird ½” PVC coupler on with 5 min. Epoxy, I had to sand it down a little to fit.

I replaced the stock spring with 1 AND ½ Ace #49 springs (the other half went into another BBB), the same length as the stock spring.

I’ve used epoxy putty and washers to reinforce the spring rest on BBBs, I think this one has Epoxy.

I put it all back together at this point ad gooped 12+7/10ths” section of CPVC to the rear bar thingy, I had to dremel the screw post that was in the way out of existence. [Didn’t take a pic of this..]

The breech, Layout of the parts:

List of stuff in the pic:
-1/2” PVC outer layer (8+3/4” long, a cut 2” long ¾” from the end to 2+3/4”, another cut 4+1/2” long from 2+3/4” to 7+1/2” [Initially I wanted the PVC outer layer to cover the Brass when it was extended but ranges were unsatisfactory, so I cut it down])
-19/32” Brass (cut the same as the PVC)
-9/16” Brass main barrel, 8” long
-9/16” Brass stub, ½” long
-17/32” Brass stub, just over ½” long (not shown, it was a later addition)
-½” CPVC section, 1+½” long, cut to fit over the 9/16” (sideways)
- ½” CPVC elbow
[My original breech design sits at the side, it didn’t work…]

Putting it together was simple; goop the stubs together. Then goop them into the back of the 19/32” piece (the back being where the coupler attaches) and goop that assembly into the PVC so that they match up and wait for it to dry. After it was dry I slipped the 9/16” piece in and gooped the CPVC chunk to it after test fitting the movement and making sure it was correct.

On the BBB:

I could have stopped there with a decent primary that hit 70’, but I decided that I wanted a great primary…
The AT2K portion everyone knows what an AT2K looks like stock, so I won’t post a pic of it. I took and 2K and made it look like this:
(Tatum’s 2K thread helped a lot with this) Basically I took off the goo-gauge, replaced the tubing (in this case from a magstrike), replaced the handle with a ½” PVC elbow and some ½” PVC and removed the original air output thing.

I cut the turret down to near it’s base and put some PETG on the back for the air output, did the basic airflow mod, then I put 1” pieces of 17/32” Brass into the turret stubs and gooped 6” of PETG over that.

The shell had to be cut to do what I wanted to do with it..

^Why such an odd cut?

This was all really straightforward to me:
-Put the two on a flat surface
-Apply Epoxy putty
-Wait for it to dry
-flip over and add more putty to the joint
Result:

I cut a PVC elbow to fit over the end of the pump,

And a chunk out of the other half of the 2K shell so that when I screwed the other halves of the now attached shells, the tubing went through the shell so that the pump was on the outside:

I then Epoxy puttied it all together (while staying on the lines of the two halves):

Then I rigged a trigger for the AT2K, meant for the tip of my index finger and maximum opening of the valve.

At this point I tested it, This is what it looked like:

That's a really sweet mod, putting a dart in the BBB barrel seems kinda hard to reach with the other pipes in the way, but otherwise the mod looks flawless.

I am made of win and nothing else so that makes you pure lose. Joking. But I am 5% win. The Nerf Gods are pure Win though. Or I just might be crazy and imagining all of this.

In the picture with the Plum crazy purple on it, it looked almost like it was supposed to be there.

If you do not drastically improve the quality of your posts and stop posting in old threads, you're going to enjoy quite a bit of time off. Type your posts as if your life depends on good spelling and grammar.

This is your last warning.
