Ok, I found this while searching the web trying to find that tech taget knock off. I can't really date it because the web page seems to be active still, but there is a reference to the side-scrolling action game Strider. Also pictures of certain types of ammo certainly have a nerf-like resemblance. It appears the guns are from different times in history. Some of the guns appear to look real because of black/silver paint.A law was passed in 1992 that says toy guns are required to have an orange plug or be entirely brightly colored to signify them as toys. 1992 is only a year after nerf started making toy guns, and he mentions once in the rocket launching weapon there is a part where he states "for serious dart gun warriors....", could this be the beginning of nerf fighting?  Here's the link http://members.aol.com/pockybox/RandomActsofNerdness/ironnerd/images/ironnerd.html Oh yeah pics of other early foam-shooters are welcome.

Hmm works fine for me. And actually before someone points this out 2 of the realistic guns do have orange things at the end. But also check out how he measures them.
