We're are still children at heart and friends with the people who enjoy the same hobby as us.
Nerf isn't about what your making it to be. I don't care if its 1v1 and I have a scout vs. a doomsayer. I trult don't.
It's not about super pawnzoringz other people. I want to have fun, not beat the competition.

NERF is stronger than ever, and most people are not ruining a thing. I'm an extremely competitive person, but I play to have fun.

The stages of Nerf and Nerf Forums by many people's eyes.
1) Campers/sn!pers ruined Nerf. They made the game quite un-fun for others.
2) Want for forum traffic drove many forums insane and pinned ones against another.
3) Trolls and hackers screwed up NH.
4) Forums became serious when Talio came back from his "break". Not long afterwards, it became a sport not meant for children, therefore destroying what Nerf is all about. There should be no banning unless trolls or hackers are found.
5) The forums killed Nerf nearly altogether. The whole idea was to have fun with your friends and shoot foam at each other. Not ban someone for missing a capital letter.
6) A few years from now, Nerf will kill Nerf.
I sense paintball stages occuring. Used to be everyone has fun with mediocre guns. Now it's whoever has the best gun wins among all.
Yet, for those who agree with my post above, this shouldn't matter. Don't fall in to what the forums are all about, like I did at one point. Fall into what nerf is all about, and have the forums be a bridge between you and other people who enjoy the same hobby.
As I said, I don't care about what guns or what ammo or what ranges or what RoF, so long as it's still the same hobby.

Ok it also has NOTHING to do with what guns are capable of doing because as long as there's skip rushing Nerfing remains the same. last time I checked Nerfers were still in general very silly people. So Your rant still doesn't hold any water. Who said it had ANYTHING to do with the forums. You did when you used Talio as an example of a Dictator, durr. |

Last Saturday I lost a life-point to a dart which came from significant range, while my attention was focused elsewhere (i.e., not on Ryan). Ooooh, I've been "losered". But it did not ruin the day for me. It didn't even ruin that round. I laughed; I looked at the dart (because it stung a bit) and then I counted back in. Big deal. The only way nerfing can become any sort of stalemated arms race is if we all choose the same direction for mods. Herding cats would be child's play compared to making that happen.
I don't see nerfing coming to an end. I see one forum stagnating (*), to which I again say "big deal."
(*)stipulated: that the others were pretty much stagnant first anyway.

And seriously, kid. The only ones who are taking Nerf seriously and entering the "paintball" stage are the new people. It's still the same silly hobby it always was. Also, the only people who are really affected by this "forum madness" are the new kids, who take the internet seriously, and who won't really be attending any wars, anyways.
Just chill, people. Anyone who thinks that Nerf may start losing its fun needs to attend more wars. If it is, then it's not happening anytime soon.
